Hey all! Hope everybody's doing okay.
If you have ever wondered why I haven't been all that active with posting new works these past few years on deviantART, the answer is simple: Japanese took over my life.
A few years ago, I found a method for learning it that makes sense and is very effective, so I've been sticking with it all this time.
Every single day I'm doing at least something in Japanese, whether it be reading manga, playing video games, watching videos online, or listening to podcasts. Even as I'm writing this, I'm listening to an アルミ缶の上にあるラジオ podcast talking about Hajime no Ippo.
Thanks to this method, I'm now able to read Japanese novels and understand about 80 to 90% of them. I still got a long way to go with my Japanese journey, but I'm happy to say I'm no longer in the rut that I was stuck in for so many years.
That being said, I do have a couple of comic projects that I will be working on this summer. I'll try to post regular progress updates on those at my tumblr account for those interested in getting a "behind the scenes" look at how I go about drawing comics.
Also, I have opened up a Storenvy store recently. I just have comics/doujinshi and prints for sale at the moment, but I will also be adding paintings, buttons, bookmarks, etc. in the coming weeks. Feel free to take a look!
NOTE: Stupid DA for not letting me type Japanese beyond six characters in the listening to/watching/etc. fields above. So I just romanized it all. Actually, lemme just type it out here:
アルミ缶の上にあるラジオ
ハリー・ポッターと賢者の石
やはり俺の青春ラブコメは間違っている
大貝獣物語
Doesn't that look much better?

Anime North 2019
Before I hit the road, I'll let you all know that I'll be in the Comic Market selling my prints, bookmarks, buttons, and comic books at Anime North this weekend. You can find me at table C18. Hope to see you there!
Cambridge Comic Arts Festival 2016
I will be participating in the Cambridge Comic Arts Festival tomorrow, August 27th, 2016, at Idea Exchange in Cambridge, Ontario. I will be joined by fellow Suddenly Sentai members Maiji and Atorier this time around.
I will have the last few remaining Japanese-style bound copies of Supercell at the event, so be sure to snatch them up while you can!
Besides comics, I'll also have bookmarks, buttons, and prints for sale at my table.
Hope to see you all who can make it there!
Upcoming Events in May!
Time to update this thing! There are two events I will be at coming up soon in May.
The first is the Cambridge Comic Arts Festival, taking place on this Saturday May 9th at the Queen's Square Library in Cambridge, Ontario. It runs from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. I'll see if I can get my laptop ready so I can do live digital drawing and painting for visitors to see.
The second is Anime North, taking place from May 22nd to 24th, at the Toronto Congress Centre in Etobicoke. I will be in the Comic Market at table A05, with tons of new buttons and bookmarks, as well as prints, and comic books. I will also have some panel space in Gallery Momiji, showc
Anime North 2013 Comic Market Table B18
Before I forget, I'll be exhibiting in the Comic Market at Anime North this coming weekend! I'll be at table B18, sharing with orangisque. The rest of the Suddenly Sentai gang will also be beside us on both sides. We will all have copies of our food-themed comic anthology "This Tastes Funny" for perusal and purchase.
I'll also have many paintings in the Gallery Momiji art show for sale, of which I will begin posting here once Anime North is over. I'm currently in the final stretch to finish up my last two paintings for the show. I think I might need to pull another all-nighter again... DX

I've been meaning to try and learn Japanese for years! And not just inspired by anime but all the rpg's that haven't been localized and all the amazing light novels. I'll have to give this a try!
