The Real Iron Chef by zanazac The Real Iron Chef by zanazac
The first page of my new comic "The Real Iron Chef". It will be part of a food-themed anthology named "This Tastes Funny" which will be released on October 26th, 2012.

More information about the comic and our group can be found at:

This should explain why there hasn't been anything new from me this past summer here on DA. :)

NOTE: it won't be in Japanese. ;) I just translated this page for fun. Much better to have at least something in those speech bubbles than nothing at all, right? :D Even if you can read Japanese, there's nothing earth-shattering or spoilery in the first page anyway, heheh.

sugoi da yo! This looks so pro. I love how crisp and clean your lineart comes out and all the detail you put into the scenes :D

ありがとう、メイジさん! (I think you can read that much, right? ;))

I can't help but put in all that detail, otherwise, it wouldn't seem as believable I think; it'd feel like something's missing, especially with panels like the first one.

To be honest, I kinda forgot to draw in the everyone's shoes in the last panel, which I would've put behind the door, but it slipped my mind as I was finishing all the pages for our deadline! XD Oh well.

I agree, they're a must for establishing shots! It's just that there is a big difference between wanting/needing to put that detail and then actually doing it, so your discipline is very admirable XD

Aww oh no about the shoes! :{ Maybe when we do the LIMITED EDITION / INTERNATIONAL VERSION / DIRECTOR'S CUT we can put them in ... XD

Thanks JR! Yep, I'm still at it, and will likely continue to do so in the foreseeable future. :)
